DR. LESLEY D. CLEMENT

Lesley D. Clement received an Honours BA and MA from Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada) and a PhD in English Literature from the University of London (UK). She has held teaching and administrative positions at various Canadian universities. She currently teaches at Lakehead University’s Orillia campus in Ontario, Canada. She is the author of Learning to Look: A Visual Response to Mavis Gallant's Fiction (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2000). She has also published and lectured internationally on contemporary children’s picturebooks and the Canadian writer L.M. Montgomery. Recent projects include co-editing, with Rita Bode (Trent University, Canada), L.M. Montgomery’s Rainbow Valleys: The Ontario Years, 1911-1942 (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2015) and, with Leyli Jamali (Islamic Azad University, Iran), Global Perspectives on Death in Children’s Literature (Routledge, 2016).

Anastasia Ulanowicz is an associate professor of English at the University of Florida, USA, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on the history of childhood, children’s literature, trauma, and historical memory. She is the author of Second-Generation Memory and Contemporary Children’s Literature (Routledge, 2013), which received the Children’s Literature Association Book Award in 2015. He was born in Ankara in 1972. He graduated from the Department of Biology of Faculty of Sciences in Hacettepe University. Then he studied for master degree in the department of histology-embryology and studied for doctorate in the department of physiology. At the same time he studied on neurology and experimental epilepsy. In 2010 he assumed the title of associate professor and in 2016 he assumed the title of professor in physiology. Prof. Dr. Canan who concentrate on chaotic and fractal characteristics of neural system in recent years, Holds audience oriented conferences and programs throughout the country about chaos theory, complexity, fractal geometry, formats in the nature, learning, language and aphasia and mind and brain. He is the academic member of the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Üsküdar University as well as he is a president of the scientific council in the [n]Beyin which is a scientific meaning and research center established by him in 2013. Prof. Dr. Sinan Canan has also published books under the names “Kimsenin Bilemeyeceği Şeyler,” “Değişen Be(y)nim” and “Unutulacak Şeyler”.

He graduated from the Department of Sociology in Boğaziçi University. He studied for master degree and worked as an assistant in the Department of Social Services in Hacettepe University. He received master degree with his thesis under the title of “A Study on Assessment of Social Activities of Today’s Community Centers in Children Area within the conceptual frame of ‘Children’s Problem’-Ankara Example” and he received his doctorate degree with his thesis under the title of “Cooperation Relationships between Turkish Community living in Berlin and Civilian Constitution of Social Services”. He went to Germany for his doctorate study and he worked there as a guest researcher in Humboldt University and Georg August Göttingen University. After he received his doctorate degree in the same department he started to work as an assistant professor in the department of Social Services in Yıldırım Beyazıt University in 2013. He started to work in Social Sciences Institution at the same university and the Department of Social Politics in 2013. He received a title of associate professorship. He worked in national and international projects. He also published papers and articles in many national and international publications. Mr. Akbaş continues his studies in the Department of Sociology at Yıldırım Beyazıt University.

Mr. Selahattin Dilidüzgün who was born in Bursa in 1960 completed his primary and secondary education in Bursa and Germany. He graduated from the Department of German Teaching of Education Faculty at Bursa Uludağ University in 1985. At the same year he started to study for master degree in the Department of German Language of Faculty of Arts at Istanbul University and then he started to study for doctorate degree with his thesis under the name of “Child and Youth Literature in Literature Education”. After he received a title of associate professorship in Turkish Education Discipline he appointed as Head of the Department of Turkish of Hasan Ali Yücel Faculty at Istanbul University. He focused on theories and practices in literature education, training of Turkish and literature teachers and children’s literature. Currently he continues his studies area of use of children books in Turkish education, reading attitude and children. Mr. Dilidüzgün who translated many children books such as “İlse Evden Kaçtı,” “Kim Takar Salatalık Kralı” from German to Turkish has published books under the name of ağdaş Çocuk Yazını – Yazın Eğitimine Atılan İlk Adım” and “İletişim Odaklı Türkçe Derslerinde Çocuk Kitapları” . He also prepared a text book under the name of Okulöncesi Öğretmenliği Programı için Çocuk Edebiyatı” with Assoc. Dr. Sedat Sever.

He graduated from the Department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance at Marmara University. He studied for master degree in education at RMIT University and in clinical psychology at Okan University. He worked as a President of Psychological Counselor Platform and Australia Turkish Institution. He also worked as an adviser for the program “İnsanlık Hali” which was broadcasted in TRT1 and TRT2 televisions. He participated in Scientific consultative and regulatory committee of 1st and 2nd International Congress of Technology Addiction and 1st International Congress of Art of Aging. He continues to study for doctorate degree at Marmara University and gives a lecture at Hasan Kalyoncu University. He is a board member of Culture, Society and Family Association, Turkey representative of RMIT University Alumni Association and a member of consultative committee of Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy and Researches Magazine. Mr. Dinç focuses on technology addiction, psychology of adolescence period, development psychology, alternative training movements, training politics, protective mental health and has published books under the name of “İnternet Bağımlılığı,” “Gençliğe Kitabe” And a book which he wrote with Mr. Kemal Sayar under the name of “Psikolojiye Giriş” and he has also three book sections under the name of “Dünü ve Bugünüyle Psikolojik Danışmanlık,” “Çocukların Fiziksel İstismarı” and “Kendimizle İletişim”.

She was born in Ankara in 1968. After she completed primary, secondary and high school education, she graduated from the department of Turkish Philology at Boğaziçi University in 1991. She worked as an English teacher in the Ministry of National Education (MEB) between the years of 1992 and 1994. He studied for master degree at Boğaziçi University in 1994. In 2001 she received doctorate degree from the Department of Old Turkish Literature of Social Sciences Institution at Istanbul University. Between the years of 1994 and 2012 she worked as an editor, chief editor and general manager in Erdem Publications. Currently she works as a chief editor in Sedir Publication Group. She continues academic studies about publishing and children's literature. She is a vice president in Press Association, a member of International Fairs Committee of the Ministry of Culture and board member of MUSIAD. She has more than 20 published story books. She also gives seminars for parents and trainers in order to develop reading culture of preschoolers and school-age children.

He graduated from the Computer Engineering Department of Near East University in 1998. He served as a lecturer at the Computer Engineering Department of Pamukkale University between 2000 and 2008. He obtained his master’s degree at Pamukkale University in 2005 and then his Ph.D. degree at Kocaeli University in 2013. He made academic studies about digital citizenship, social media, safety of personal data on internet, conscious and safe use of internet, and risks posed against children by internet. He gave more than 200 seminars nationwide in Turkey on social media, information safety in internet, and conscious and safe use of internet. Acting as the consultant of a program named “From Internet World” that was broadcast in 2014 on TRT’s Voice of Turkey Radio and where internet was addressed from all aspects, Mr. Bayzan is the author of the chapter “Conscious and Safe Use of Internet” in the book “Internet Addiction – Problems and Solutions” and the article “Internet Adventure of Digital Natives” in the special edition “Digital Culture” of Hece magazine. He is currently serving at Information Technologies and Communications Authority as a Coordinator in charge of Safe Internet Service.

She graduated from the English Language Training Department of Istanbul University in 1986. She obtained her master’s degree at the English Language Training Department of Marmara University’s Faculty of Education. She served as a lecturer at İzmir University’s Public Relations Department and as Department Head of Istanbul University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema. During this period, she lectured as a visiting professor at various universities in abroad. Her articles and papers were published in many national and international magazines. She took charge in different documentaries, short films, and television programs. Ms. Pembecioğlu wrote “Ethics – Communication - Child”, “Child Image in Turkish and Global Cinema”, “I Communicate: Communication Techniques”, “Essays on Documentary Film”, and “Entr’acte”.

After obtaining her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Ankara University’s Child Development Department, she completed her Ph.D. program at Hacettepe University, Institute of Health Sciences, Child Development and Education Program. She served as a preschool teacher at the Kindergarten of Ankara University, Faculty of Agriculture between 1999 and 2002. She has been a lecturer since 2002 at Ankara University, Faculty of Educational Sciences, Preschool Education Department. She is engaged in the subjects of social behavior, peer relationships, values education, and parent education in the preschool period and gives full-time lectures at undergraduate and postgraduate levels on the subjects of computer-aided education, technology and media use, game, motor development and education, and teacher training. Ms. Şen has been acting as a consultant, researcher, implementer, and expert at the projects supported and implemented by TUBITAK, Ministry of National Education, European Union, and UNICEF and she wrote various articles, book chapters, and made national and international conference presentations.

Mr. Ozan Çivit has been working in the animation and game industry since 2003 and he is mainly specialized in concept design, illustration, and scenario and took important parts in many productions. He acted as the scriptwriter and art director for the local productions such as Rafadan Tayfa, YadeYade, and Keloğlan. During his stay in the UK, he developed concepts and contents for different game and animation studios and served as a mentor in concept design at Teeside University. Besides many projects involved, he developed children’s books and applications at his studio established in the UK in order to raise awareness about technology for the preschool children. The prominent one among these projects is Don’t Wee in the Fountain as the first children’s book to be published soon about the subject of cyber-bullying.
